Slight confusion about interface "metric" setting
Options
My understanding of the metric parameter is that assigning a higher number to an interface will cause the ZyWALL to give preference to similar interfaces with lower numbers when routing traffic. Do I have that correct?
In my particular situation, I would like the ZyWALL (310, V.4.33) to prefer our cable internet connection over our DSL connection. The "wan0" interface has a "metric" of "0", and the "tel_ppp" interface has a metric of "1". However, when I look in Maintenance > Packet Flow Explore > Direct Route, they both have "0" indicated. That's not correct, is it?
Thank you for helping me get a better grasp on the subject!

Yes, same route with lower metric take higher priority.
The metric is for the default route of the interface.
So you need to check the "Main Route" table.5
