NAS 520 disk replacement

Dear all,
one day my NAS started to give a very nasty beeping sounds and it turned out my raid 1 just got corrupted so I replaced it. When I put in the new hard disk the status changed to uninitialized and now I'm being asked to initialize which I guess means I'm going to loose my data which I don't want.
Furthermore now I'm not able to log in to my NAS and access the desktop or anything. After I cancelled (didn't really start) the first initialization I'm getting password incorrect message and can't do too much…
Does any of you have any practical advice what to do?

If you can't login there is not much you can do. Have you already tried a reboot?
