Hi,

I have create a VPN client in my rasbian PLC, used command lines to establish an L2TP over IPsec connection.

In the Zyxel's GUI I can see my client device in the VPN monitor list, which means there is no problem in the connection. However, when I try to ping the devices in my  VPN server's LAN subnet or my other VPN client devices I get a negative response.

My requirement is that I should be able to ping ex: server's IP from client and client's IP from server.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks in Advance

/M

Try to enter the command “route –n” on Ubuntu.

    Before L2TP VPN is connected

After L2TP VPN is connected, there should be a new route shown in the routing table.

  • Hi,

I found the solution for my problem. If I want to ping VPN server's LAN subnet from client or vice versa, I need to make sure that my VPN server's LAN and client's LAN should have the same subnet mask. By doing this I'm able to ping from server to client and client to server.

    /Manoj.
