Any plans to support Google Domains for DDNS?

I have a USG20W-VPN router and want to use the DDNS feature to direct a domain I own (managed by domains.google.com) to my router.  However, I cannot see how to configure the router to send the correct web request.  Any ideas how to get the router to work with google domains today? Any chance you might offer direct support in the future?

POST: https://<username>:<password>@domains.google.com/nic/update/nic/update?hostname=<domain>&myip=<ip address>
Header:
Authorization: Basic <authorization>
User-Agent: <agent>

<username>: is the google provided user name associated with the <domain>
<password>: is the google provided password associated with the <domain>
<domain>: is the domain, managed by google what you want associated with your router
<ip address>: is the router IP
<authorization>:  is <username>:<password> expressed as base64 encoded text
<agent>: is required by google, but it seems it can be any agent text that follows the standard

The <authorization> is the trickiest, and that one gave me the most difficulty.  I couldn't see how to configure the custom DDNS to post this request. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @Maxlever ,
The google domains DDNS API is same as the most of the DDNS provider.
So you can using the custom DDNS to connect the google domains DDNS API.

Hi @zyman2008, Thanks for sharing valuable information to us =)
  • Unfortunately this will only support a limited number of domains.

I found this problem a few years ago when i moved from Noip.com to google domains.

If you want to run more domains than supported, suggest you check out DynSite app. Its old (eg 2015) but works great and is cheap.

You can then run as many domains as you want and works permanently in the background etc. Hope this helps for future reference to anyone facing the same problem i had and helps save them time looking for a solution.

    Cheers,
    Dean
